It is an evergreen climbing plant belonging to the Apocinaceae and it originates from Southern America. The Mandevillea Suaveolens is vaguely similar to the Dipladenia but it’s different from it because its leaves are bigger, wrinkled (particularly evident in the “Alice du Pont”) and brighter. It is different as well for the size of the flowers that are larger and slightly perfumed.
It is an evergreen shrub that originates from Central America. It has thin, green, fleshy and branched trunks. When it grows it assumes a prostrate shape. It belongs to the Plantaginaceae family. It fears the cold. Thanks to its hanging shape it looks like a waterfall of flowers. It needs sun and regular watering.
It originates from the Mediterranean basin but it is spread in India and in some Atlantic islands. It is a herbaceous, perennial and evergreen plant belonging to the family Labiatae. The leaves, narrow and elongated, end with an ear-shaped inflorescence of violet/purple color. Inside of this there are glands containing the base aromatic oil for the production of various fragrances used in the cosmetics and as a spice in the kitchen. The Stoechas variety has slightly silver leaves and it produces larger dark purple flowers, surmounted by a characteristic tuft of purple bracts.
It includes seventy five varieties. A common feature is the almost total absence of leaves: however, they tend to fall completely once the first flowers appear. It blooms from May to August. Basically the Broom is a mediterranean plant so the warm and sunny weather is fundamental for its growth: it normally lives in very arid areas and it does not need a lot of water. If the plant has been planted in the ground it is possible to water it sporadically. If, instead, it has been planted in a pot, it is better to water it more regularly.
The Lippia Citriodora belongs to the family Verbenaceae. It is an aromatic plant that, if lightly touched, it spreads an aromatic and unmistakable lemon fragrance in the air. Like all the aromatic herbs, it hardly tolerates stagnant water but, at the same time, it needs abundant watering. Blooming occurs from June to August and even up to the beginning of autumn in areas with mild climate.
The rosemary is an evergreen perennial shrub, only representative of its kind in the Labiatae family. It originates from the entire Mediterranean basin, in particular in the coastal areas. In the wild it grows in barren and sunny soils. It becomes part of the Mediterranean scrub, colonizing cliffs and gorges among the rocks. It is widespread from sea level up to 650 meters above sea level. In the islands, especially in Sardinia and in Corsica, it is possible to find it up to 1500 meters above sea level. Flowering occurs during the spring (with blue-purple flowers); it is a very rustic plant and fears prolonged frost.
