The calibrachoa has flowers which highly resembles those of petunias, to which this plant is a close relative. However, calibrachoas bear smaller flowers and have a more compact growth: for this reason, they are also known as dwarf petunias. Easy to grow and quite resistant, they rarely get sick and unlike petunias they well withstand the rain and the wind. Furthermore, a sunny position guarantees a prosperous growth and blooming: this in fact begins already in mid-April, when the days are longer and there are many hours of light.
