It belongs to the family Ranunculaceae and it includes almost 250 species of herbaceous or woody plants, climbing with deciduous leaves or evergreen, rustic and not. During the winter the majority of the species loses the foliage. The colors of the flower are shades of pink, blue and purple; there are as well species with yellow and white flowers. Clematis are plants widespread in nature in Europe and Italy as well. They well withstand the cold (during the winter they tend to lose all the leaves) and their blooming is resistant and long-lasting (until late summer).
April, May, June
It belongs to the family Brassicaceae and it originates from Southern Europe and Western Asia. The Iberis is a perennial and herbaceous plant with oval, leathery and dark green leaves. It produces white, yellow or pink flowers, collected in small bunches that make the plant ideal for decorating borders and rocky gardens.
The Tradescantia Virginiana (or Gold) is a herbaceous plant that prefers tmid-shade exposure (not direct light); it needs abundant watering during the summer and manuring during the autumn and spring with organic fertilizing. It blooms during the spring/summer. Flowers do not last for a very long time but the production continues for the whole warm season, until the first cold.
It is known as “kangaroo paw” because of the shape of the flower. It is a rhizomatous perennial plant with australian origin. It prefers sunny or semi-shaded places; these plants don’t fear the cold and they can withstand periods of intense frost. Sometimes during the winter they lose the aerial part and they grow with the arrival of the spring. They can store watery lymph in the roots so that they can use it if they aren’t watered; for this reason they withstand even long periods of drought without problems.
The succulents absorb the water when it abundantly rains and they accumulate water so that they can resist in periods of drought. They are plants suitable for dry weather. The succulents don’t need a lot of water; on the contrary a lot of water can damage them. It’s better not to keep them in sunlight but in a lit place, in a well-drained soil.
The Lotus is a genus of herbaceous plant belonging to the family Fabacee (or Legumionous) that includes over a hundred species. The species of the genus Lotus are almost all perennial herbs. They typically have trifoliate compound leaves that have two large stipules at the basis; this conveys the impression of leaves composed of five leaflets instead of three, as it actually is. Some species, however, really have leaves composed of more than three leaflets (imparipinnate), up to about fifteen. The flowers, irregular, with the typical papilionaceous corolla, are almost always yellow but they can have red shades. They are collected in small inflorescences made up of 3-10 flowers. The fruit is a legume.
