Laurus nobilis is an evergreen shrub or small tree belonging to the Lauraceae family. It grows wild in the Mediterranean maquis and has therapeutic properties. It is well known and widely used both in cooking as an aromatic herb and as an ornamental plant. This plant grows slowly but over time can reach up to ten meters in height. The bay tree produces dense and thick foliage, has a stem with dark bark, and is highly branched.
